Since I had trouble with yesterday’s blog and adding pictures. I decided to do a blog post on each of the honor books. Through the years I have sometimes found the honor books more enjoyable than the medal winners, which is why I’m devoting so much space to each. A good example of this is Charlotte’s Web, a Newbery Honor book in the 1950s. Everyone knows Charlotte’s Web, few remember the medal winner.
Today’s focus is Terry Pratchett’s book Dodger. He writes humorous fantasy novels, and if you like a fun and amusing romp, he might be an author you’ll enjoy.
Don’t let his talk about history confuse you. He might create a story set in Victorian London, but I can guarantee that it’s not the London you or anyone else expects. His novels sometimes make me giggle. So, be prepared.
The Usual Reminders
